Festival Programme


For this year’s festival we have a packed programme throughout the day in our chef’s kitchen with demonstrations from some of Cornwall’s top chefs and an asparagus talk from the largest growers in Cornwall, John and Jenny Keeler.

Come and be inspired by chefs from all over Cornwall. Ingredients will be available on the day, including Cornish asparagus from the Keelers and a variety of fresh, local produce from our key suppliers.


Programme for Sunday 1st June 2014:

11.30am Asparagus Talk with the Keelers

Husband and wife team John and Jenny Keeler have built up a reputation for the high calibre of asparagus they grow at Tregassow Farm, near Truro, having mastered the art for over a decade.  John will be taking part in a questions and answers session and sharing tips for growing this high investment crop.


12.20am Nigel Tabb, Tabb’s, Truro

1.00pm Head Chef, Penventon Park Hotel, Redruth

Our very own executive head chef will show how his love of classic Cornish ingredient is influencing his seasonal menus and proving a hit with guests at the Penventon.

1.40pm Tom Jonik – Penventon Oark Hotel, Redruth

2.25pm Nick Hodges



 We are delighted that BBC Radio Cornwall will be supporting the Cornwall Asparagus Festival once again. BBC Radio Cornwall presenters Tiffany Truscott and Daphne Skinnard will be on hand to host the cookery demonstrations throughout the day.
